Default Signs of Spring...

I believe it was FishTank that was looking for signs of spring a few weeks ago, specifically, the return of the ospreys.
Well, this morning, I saw them for the first time this spring. The nest along the road at IBSP at A17, sitting up there, looking over their home for the next few months, thinking of repairs and renovations...
Wont be long before they are flying over us on the beach, and diving down, getting the same fish we are after...

Maybe out back, but the front is slow... Water temp 44 degrees, but the gulls were picking small baitfish from the white water. I'm patient though...

Better yet, one of those little "tea cup" breeds... A few years ago, the little woman and I were walking the boardwalk in Point Beach, and this guy had this little dog in a basket. Of couse we had to stop, and she played with the dog, along with about 50 college aged cuties.... All I heard that night was how cute the dog was. All I could think of was how lucky the little bugger was to have those 20 somethings making a fuss over it...

Ragman is gonna' get a cockapoo, labradoodle, or jackapug!!!

Either would look great tied to your rig. You could even get them a small white tupperwear container and they could have a bucket just like yours. Or better yet you could put them in the bucket!!!

Thanks for the mental image Rags!!!

First time I ever saw an osprey in Northport harbor this week.

They are huge, and put on quite a show when fishing. Very impressive.

If I get another dog, it's going to be a real one, like a husky or shepard, not one of those four legged floor mops... I love dogs, but a dog would put a crimp in my lifestyle. Unless I can train it to use a litter box or the toilet, I'll stick to the fat lazy cat that I have. He dont bother me, I dont bother him. Keep him fed, he is happy. Plus, he makes a good foot warmer in the winter...

Steve,
Wait till you see them pull a blue or striper from the water... I'll bet you will be surprised the first time you hear a "peep peep peep", and look around for a small bird flying around, and realize it's an osprey circling overhead.

There must be bunker around. Yesterday, I saw one of the pair from the A17 nest flying along the road with a bunker in it's talons. Looked like it was coming from the front side.
