Default Shark in Ocean City?

Fished all day on Sunday, the 16th because I was on the beach anyway. Caught lots of sand sharks, kings, skates and even a bull nose. Water was warm and clear. Late in the afternoon a surfer advised me that he saw a 6' shark swimming at the surface very close to shore. The surfer got out of the water and stayed out. Any chance he was correct? What type of shark could it have been?

I imagine the sharks are in on the bunker run as well? I would imagine oily bunker are a good food source for them as well.

I recall couple of weeks ago someone on this board or another saying they saw what they believed to be a threshher not too far off the beach in on the bunker.

Lotsa sharks in and around the surf this time of year. Browns, duskies, threshers... Just ask fishpicker!

I wouldn't worry about being bit though, unless you have bunker tied to your legs your pretty safe. I've actually wade-fished with sharks busting schools of fish before. No worries. I wouldn't be suprised if ya lost a boofish to one or two though

If the water gets warm enough some southern species start to show up too not to alarm you but they spot some pretty big sharks in 3 ft of water

The sharks come in VERY close during the summer. I remember a couple years back, My brother and I saw a Thresher not more than 3 yards away from us while we were surfing in Manasquan. I don't mess with sharks.. If I see one, I get my a$$ on shore.
