HooBoy, the board's been very quiet this last few days!
I think I'm going to visit the Hook this morning and try my luck before it gets too wet and blowy. High tide is around 10:00 and I figure it's worth a drive.
I'll let you know...

Got out before the storm, 6 footballs and 4 hickory's. Water still like chocolate milk. Wind starting this afternoon with gusts 40+, yay .

Fished northern Monmouth County this morning from 6:30 to 8:15. Lots of hookups with shorts on A27 with green tail. Nothin on teaser or other offerings i tried. Everything was in first trough or the wash. Some birds working early and they kind of cleared out by 7:30 or so, but still picked up fish even after they moved on.

Didn’t catch or see anything over 24 inches or so, but steady action.

pretty much the same report as KMOFF and DonLBI. Got into an immediate mini blitz landing 8 fish w/2 double headers in a 1/2 hour or so, then a slow pick all small fish but I gear down for it. Snagged a large spearing and saw several sand eels washed up on the sand.

...and I went left when I shoulda gone right ...again. Reports are that the fishing was the best of the year down toward IBSP beaches and I was standing on the end of the Hook sharing absolutely zip with 2 or 3 other souls. I saw schoolies jumping in the wash but they weren't touching anything any of us tried, including one guy who was drowning live eels! Not one touch for any of us.

Joe, just wondering, did you try the smallest of small offerings Just a teaser were there sand fleas around a teaser that looked like a sand flea with the rough water Sunday, a clam, clam teaser

Got out late afternoon / eve for a bit, froze, but picked up a short on the teaser. Nothing else seen.

Was hoping for more but maybe wrong tide and couldnt stay into dark.

Bayakker, no, but that makes sense. I could see the damn fish, and they were busy doing something. Next time!
