Todays' APP says that a guy named Mike Platte caught a 51 pound 3 oz. Striper. It was weighed in at Barnegat Light Bait and Tackle.

You list two fish over fifty and you put up one. No name of the pictured person or name of the catcher, nor as to whether he caught both fifties. I'm reading the scale with a glass and it reads 12 pounds. This is the Internet and I strap on a Chastity Belt every day.

53 1/2x28 was the measurements.
Dmag is the name he is know by on the lures he makes.
Hope that helps..

Frank,
I think thats one of those scales that just hit a certain point and you have to add it up... The guy is Dennis Maglione, used to post on SSc as Mr Woodwork, think he changed it to DMag when he started selling lures. Pretty straight shooter, and the measurements sound about right. I know him and would believe him...
Damn him!!! At least he didn't get it fishing one of my spots at IBSP....

Okay, now I have it right. All the numbers threw me and I thought there were two fish. That is #29.

It seems the big girls are lingering in Jersey (why would anyone want to linger in New Jersey, when you could go to the Cape?). Here are two from Mike Shepherd's fishing report in the Atlantic City Press:

Surf City Bait and Tackle weighed a 51-pound bass caught Tuesday at Brant Beach by Dennis Maglione of Toms River, according to Joe Carmelengo.

Basil Shehady of Barnegat Light Bait and Tackle also reported a 58-pound, 13-ounce striped bass was caught by Mike Greene in the ocean off Harvey Cedars on Tuesday.

There were three mentioned in last Friday's APP report. Two of them may be the ones just mentioned.

Yes, that is why I want certain details that identify a catch -- weight, catcher, maybe date. We don't want to count any twice or miss any. But if your info is limited, do the best you can. What I pay you for.

Looks like all the "experts" down here are through getting the 30s and 40s for now. Or maybe they killed them all.

There has been a drop in the returns this week, probably because of the storm. The large could also be in transit.
