Another strong outing for Harvey...or was it the lame lineup from the Yanks...oh wait, it was both

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
Harvey : no matter how you look @ it everyone is looking for him to have a great career .........pitching is baseball . There are some key players who need to have a outstanding year for the Mets to get a wild card ...& a chance to get to the Big Show . You need a lefty starter & a closer who can do it to who ever comes to the plate in later innings. It's a puzzle w/ a lot of luck .

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
The Mutts are far from making a run, 81 wins would be nice.
Watching Harvey and DeGrom dominate will suffice this year.

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
I think Wright comes back uninjured; Cuddyer in the lineup allows Grandy to stop swinging for HRs and hitting the Citi alleys for extra bases; full year for Lagares; D'Arneau continues to improve; and 5 good starters...think more than 81 Frank; the bullpen is the issue...Gee may go if a strong 8th or 9th inning reliever comes up on the market. There are a number of strong replacements for Gee

The way they keep moving the fence in some of this warning track power in their lineup may hit one off the fence once in a while.

I'm just tempering expectations after 8 years of pathetic baseball....that and we have no bullpen...but we will have more wins than the Skankees

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
The Mets are pulling a Mets move ..that's why they are the Mets . Opening day Havey cound not pitch because the Mets did not want too much on his plate Ok Tonight not pitching ? it's too cold . So deGrom is chop liver to step on the mound , "Call the agent kid start the process now " didn't take long ......Back to the old Mets again .

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
I don't mind Harvey going against the other team's #3 each time out. That may be a good move. In this case it is Strasburg, though. I think the way they set up the batting order is more of a problem.

c'mon, the guy is your entire future hope and you want them to pitch him coming off a year from surgery???
I'm with them on this one, makes no sense rushing him in cold weather.

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
Hook missed again. Trying to find things to complain about...Been a Mets fan since they drafted Hobie Landreth; watched first game on Channel 9 from St Louis. They did just fine. Colon won 15 last year and at 41 deserved Opening day. DeGrom was rookie of the year and got game 2. Harvey pitches today and smokes Strasburg...And we are complaining??? All 3 pitched really well and we take 2 of 3 from the Nats. Not a single complaint from the first series...now you Yankee fans, well that's another story

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
Harvey pitch fantastic 9Ks Harper 3x's great to see him back ...... Ian Desmond should have a steak dinner comming 3 more errors yesterday, total unearned runs / errors than the Mets have rbi's in the series .

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
The Yankees are doing about what I expect... will be a long year as the Mets start to scratch back to try and take over NYC again.
Great start for the Mets. You couldn't ask for anything better against a nemesis like the Nats, who are up there as pre-season picks to win it all.
