Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
Mets thinking..Looks like Tejada is the third baseman until we know about Wright. D'Arnaud is really missed. Flores is just fine. Young pitching is exactly that. Lots of possibilities but need some patience. My biggest issue is the woeful bench. Really nobody there at all

Take out the Horseshoe , Four Leaf Clover , & the Rabbit 's foot that any team in MLB can have a healthy rotation or can be ready for Sept. Holding your breath does not work.

Adding too much spice to any recipe can spoil the meal. Truly I would leave things be . No time to panic until after the All Star break . This team has Identy ( a little corky ) but it might work .

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
When Herrera comes off the DL he goes back to 2nd. Prado might be available from the Marlins. Don't know where that leaves Murphy and Tejada.

11 mill 2015 11mill 2016 will the Mets pay ??
He can't be traded unless he agrees : what makes you think he wants to come to the Mets ?

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
Murphy must play. What is he hitting in last month; his average is up to .285. Tejada goes to bench and he can play all 3 infield spots. If you wonder why Prado might want the Mets looks at the Marlins record

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
Don't think Stanton will allow such a valuable player for the team to call it quits a few months into the season.IF he moves the Mets would have to give him an extension. That would leave him somewhere 34-35 yrs old. ? Prado has played every position in his carer except , P, C, CF maybe he can do it all...has talent . Lets see

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
Meanwhile back in the Bronx (or in this case, on the left leaning coast), the Yankees are holding on.
CC still didn't win, he'll be at best a .500 pitcher going forward and to do that he'll need some breaks.
BUT this will decide if the Yankees can really make a run:
Masahiro Tanaka returns from the disabled list to make his first start since April 23 on Wednesday, as the Yankees conclude this road trip with a 3:40 p.m. ET matchup against the Mariners. Tanaka was 2-1 with a 3.22 ERA in four starts before being shelved by a right forearm strain and right wrist tendinitis.

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
DiDi & Drew are hurting the team , Cashman's interview w/ Mike K yesterday about it was like the mother protecting her cubs , they have a second baseman down in AAA w/ 13 errors that dn't sound promising, 1st place might mean a lot but to me , my ticket $$ is not going for this team the way they are entertaining . Unless the big boss wants to make her NY visit then I'm over ruled .

I'll go once or twice as usual... mostly listen on the radio, catch highlights online and a few games on tv.
They have big holes and cash must have been told to juggle with the balls he was given

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
Watching is always best in person, but getting to the ballpark is such a hassle, I do it only when my youngest baseball fan daughter is available.
I'm never sitting down long enough to really enjoy a tv game, too many distractions to get into the ebb and flow.
Radio, on the other hand. Radio!
Baseball is to radio like a largemouth is to a southern farm pond. It just fits and takes over.
There are so many games that through my life I have a continuous stream of calls of strikeouts, double plays, ballentine blasts and 'the Yankees wiiiiiiiiiiin' running through my head, almost no matter what I'm doing.

Re: The 2015 New York Baseball Thread
oh yeah, there is some new company named Ballentine that are now sponsoring "Ballentine Blasts" this year
I thought I heard Mel yelling from the stands yesterday as I was traveling back from West Chester (PA) during the Yanks win over the Mariners.
