Default December Fishing Reports 2010

Last month before you close the log book for 2010.
Get out there before it's to late.

Post them up good or not so good.
From the surf or the back bays are ok.

Hit SSP into Midway this morning from 6-1030. Picked away at a few fish finally. 4 total to 27"s, all taken on a 1 oz whip it (blurple) and after the sun was up. Plenty of deep holes in and around that area. Beautiful morning and pretty much had the beach to myself. Saw a keeper pulled in on a clam as well. Keep the faith guys! 33hemi!

Tried after work in AC yesterday, could not hold bottom. Usually I would move out back, but packed it in till next time. When I got there it was just me, as i was leaving 1 caster on the jetty and 1 on the beach.

Lots of small fish around with morning and late afternoon being best. Small plastics, AVA's, and of course shads.

Fished borth end of IBSP this morn 5-9am..2 fish on needles in the dark...dropped 1 in the wash which felt like a substantial one...landed the other which was about 28 in...released. after sunup it was real steady action on vision surf eels...all small fish around 22in. Fished same area again from 3pm to 7pm...4 shorts on the surf eel and then nada after dark on a black ss needle. Will be out tomorrow am again.

SH, 3:45 - 5:45 pm, water a tad dirty, very windy, 1- 18" fish landed, a larger (not that large) fish hit with no hook-up, both on a smaller bomber. Finger tips frozen had to leave.

Have tried mechanic gloves, ski glove liners, latex gloves and leather work gloves this time of year always end up bare handed, any suggestions?

I have shimano insulated neoprenes that are decent combined with chemical hand warmers (which must stay dry but with some care can be kept so)

My suggestion is keep the gloves on! Barehanded = cold. Serisously tho I've just been using some northface gloves that have been working well just can't get them wet is all.

For over 20 years I've been using cotton work glove liners. They're woven like thermal underware and very light. I keep 2 or 3 pairs in the truck as I drive down the beach plugging and if they get wet just put on a dry pair and throw the wet ones under the heater vent. They dry in a few minutes. They're cheap and most stores that sell work clothes sell them. Only thing since they're cotton is if you take them in the house to wash them dry them on low heat or you'll be giving them to your kids.
