Bring appropriate leader material as well! I'm heading down next weekend and will bring wire and 80 lb test. I've had blues bite through the 80 lb, but at least they have to work at it!

Good luck!

Tease em with a fast retrieve on a popper, single tail hook with a little bucktail on it. Stick to the wire leader, but if they are in thick, like I have heard, expect some suddenly slack lines from the blues just cruising with an open mouth cutting thru the main line.
Sorry, I haven't been out much recently, but that has always worked for me...

Some bass early this AM and small blues in and out all day.
Bait all over the place
It should blow wide open anytime now.
There was big blues blitzing most of the morning north of the park today.

Try mullet... Get creative, and try clams and mullet on a high low... Thats what I would try fishing bait. A lot of folks look down on bait fishing this time year around here, but it works just as well as it does in the spring. Make sure you bring some plugs/poppers to fish in case the bait doesn't work...
