Hit my 1st bluefish blitz of the year , nothing happening with bass today but the bluefish saved the day, landed 14 from 2-5lbs and lost several others,Now here was a 1st for me ,when i was catching bluefish, there were bluefish HEADS coming in with the tide ,,What do you guys think was chomping them blues?? Great day in all, can't wait till the next time>))>

Good job! I love bluefish, they're crazy. My best guess is it's other blues feeding on each other. Last year I had about a 3-5 lb. blue bitten in half by a large blue as I was about to beach it. Half the body gone and it was still trying to bite me when I was taking the hook out.

Lots of bait here in OC as well not that much Bass/Blue action thought. One early Oct. a few years back the wash was full of half eaten 1# weakfish. All the heads still gasping pretty strange. I also had a 4' SandTiger Shark grab a 3# Blue just before I was going to bring it along side my yak.

Like the others said, most likely big blues eating smaller ones; onces those guys start feeding frenzy, anything is fair game. Awsome sight, gotta love it.

Agree that it was probably larger blues. I used a chunked up blue for bait last week when I landed one on clams.
